My pet isn't well trained /can't be off lead - can we still book?
A. This is my speciality. I love the crazy, unruly fur babes (and wild-child siblings too!)
I get the honor of offering you something that even other pet photographers struggle with.
It only takes a split second to get a great shot, no need for sitting pretty on the mark.
I often hear
"They wont sit still long enough for a picture" and it makes me confidently chuckle, because with my experience and dog-led approach, I've found some of the most 'untrained' pets to actually create the most beautiful portraits - and your reactions are what makes all the patience worthwhile!
I guide them confidently but unknowingly into scenes, or photograph them candidly enjoying their walk, but I always find a way with patience, experience and tricks up my sleeve.

Not everything is what it seems!
Posing animals is not about how well behaved they are, but about how we interact with them to make them WANT to do what we'd love to capture!
A lot of my pet sessions are actually on lead. All hail photoshop!
Yes, it may take extra time per image to edit this out but your pets safety and comfort is always paramount!
This applies for equine sessions also, if your horse is calm enough. we use my thin photo headcollar and I am able to remove this afterwards for a wild, free spirited look if you'd like that.
Do you travel further away?
A. I love to explore new locations and try something different!
I often offer pet and family photography around York, Chester, Liverpool, North Wales & Sheffield too!
I simply need to ensure the chosen location has lots of variety and is suitable for getting the best out of our models so I'll offer locations I have shot at confidently before.
What happens if the weather is bad?
A. Most of my sessions are in the great outdoors, which means working with the not so great British weather.
Sessions will only go ahead if its safe and pleasant to do so, and we pencil in a plan B date when booking so that you can organise your time with notice.
I will check in with you the evening before your shoot regarding the forecast.
Note: I have also had very successful sessions in the rain!
Can I get involved in the photos?
A. I love nothing more than capturing the bond between pets and owners. Pet photoshoots are particularly great if, like me, you don't feel comfortable in front of the camera but would really like some professional photographs of yourself. Showcasing the love between you and your pet is not only a distraction for you, but enhances your portraits with an emotional connection.
I particularly love combining family photoshoots with pet portraits - it's a win for everyone! You essentially get 2 types of sessions for the price of one, and if the kids get tired or need an ice cream bribe, they can have some time to just be kids whilst I switch the focus to photographing your pet.
How many pets can I bring
A. Bring them all! The more the merrier!! I often combine dogs with equine portraits, sometimes splitting them into two sessions with an overlap for family portraits.
We may need to schedule some more time for multiple models and each pet will have a few less individual portraits, but I always endeavour to create at least 1 epic portrait of them together - even if it involves a few magic photoshop tricks!
I've held sessions in the past for:
9 puppies,
6 nervous rescues
8 loyal labradors
and a large team of stunning dachshund studs.
We just have to embrace a little organised chaos and bring extra pairs of hands!

How many photos will be in my gallery?
A. Everybody brings a unique energy to their shoot so it varies wideley, but there is at least 25 viewable images in a MIDI session gallery and 50+ viewable in a LUXE session gallery - often more if theres multiple models involved.
My goal is to provide you enough variety to find a handful of stunning images that really showcase your individual charm, personality and connection - in a way that you could not capture alone or without experience and dedication.
I truly believe that these refined portraits displayed beautifully on your walls provide more value than 200 images of similar moments on a USB stick.
